Baum has been selected for 2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism \ Architecture Shenzhen-Hong Kong. This year, with the inspiring motto: “From dis-connection to this connection”, it will reflect on the idea of boundary and how societies react to them. Baum’s proposal consists in 190 kgs. of touristic souvenirs brought (back) to China from Skopje, Macedonia. They all represent eclectic, fake historical buildings built in 2013 to “europeanize” the country, within the so-called “Skopje 2014 Master Plan”. Like in a 19th collection of aberrant architectural specimens, the strange compilation of elements are presented in a strict military layout.
