And dental prosthetic laboratory is indeed a workshop, in which “dirty” materials such as clay, lacquers or wax coexist with high technology machines: cnc, precision ovens, 3d printers, etc. Setting a clear layout in which this various activities are compatible is actually the key point for the project. The orthodontists work long hours, so the proposal tried to achieve a domestic environment with constant views of the exterior.
Shelves, machine rooms, samples boxes, etc are part of the interior landscape and the project integrated them all in a coherent space. A glass box with a dry garden turns into a human-scaled lamp and enables a perception of nature in the inside.
In the façade, a metal-framed window system embodies the ventilation grids, in order to achieve the impression of a higher façade.
